May 2010: The WMF type "Berlin" cutlery is no longer produced. Due to some unexpected high demand in the last months we are sold out now. We are working on establishing a replacement, respective information will be posted here as soon as it gets available.
The WMF cutlery type "Berlin" went out of production in 2009. WMF kindly accepted a final order from us and actually manufactured a last quantity which will allow us to continue our supply to test labs running IEC 60436 or EN 50242/EN 60436 tests. The quantities we had made of each of the items reflected the expected demand for approx. 3 years - the estimate based on the average demand during the last 3 years. However, due to some unexpectedly high demand (probably due to new labs opening that need all new equipment) we are now sold out!
We have been and still are in contact with IEC SC 59A WG2 to initiate and support the process of replacing the "Berlin" cutlery by a new type that will then be available for the coming years. A candidate for this replacement has already been found and now needs to be discussed and checked by IEC working groups and committee 59A.
